Notice of Semi-Importance

June 10th, 2008

Sorry for the complete lack of action guys.  New job started, sucking up whatever free time the lack of school left me.  That, and when you’re not happy, trying to be funny is very, very hard.

One notice though.  I had to go through and delete all the comments left for me to moderate as I had 59 of them, and most, if not all, of them were spam.  The internet kinda freaked out trying to load the page with them all, so deleted they became.  If you left a comment on any of the comics and it hasn’t shown up, I urge you to leave it (or one similar) again.  Comments are awesome and make me feel a lot better than you know.  It’s really awesome hearing from those that read these silly things.

28 - “Accuracy Was Lowered”

May 15th, 2008
So… I love how the first comic in awhile that’s had some actual good drawing is a Pokemon related one.  Awesome.  I realize I haven’t done a character study for my Dragonair-inspired-Pokemon-trainer costume, I shall do that sometime.

Also, I am aware that using Torterra would be an abysmal choice against Rayquaza.  If I remember correctly, I think I just used a Master Ball on the damn thing in whatever game you catch him in.  I do love my Torterra in Pearl though.  But… anyone else notice the lack of good fire Pokemon in the new games?  I swear, I had a Ponyta until I traded someone for a Chimchar.  I do prefer a Vulpix/Ninetales for my fire type, not sure why they’re cute.

27 - “Child Abuse”

May 5th, 2008
Oh, Brawl, you’re so awesome.  Sure, Snake breaking Ness’ or Lucas’ neck is disturbingly hilarious, but watching him do THE SAME THING TO KIRBY OR JIGGLYPUFF is a complete mystery.  Snake puts creatures with NO NECK in a choke hold.  That must be a testament to how awesome he is.

I really wanted this comic up last Friday, but I’ve been hit with some intestinal bug that’s just laid me out for the past four days.  Still not all better, kind of a miracle I got this comic up.  Depending on how I recover, there should be a comic up this Friday.  While it’s summer I’m shooting for Monday and Friday updates (and I fully intend to see comic number 50 before I start school again).

26 - “What’s Sleep?”

April 30th, 2008
I did want to get this comic done and up last week, but I decided to wait until until I got my new laptop and could use a proper scanner once again.  So yay, now opening and using Photoshop wont destroy my computer!

As for the comic, it’s funny ’cause it’s true.

25 - “Compatibility”

April 21st, 2008

Whoa, we’re back.  School was a pain and also completely awesome, but I’m done and can sleep for the next three months!

The above did happen, with much the same reaction.  That’s supposed to be a brain in the last panel, just not drawn very well.

24 - “Certain Skills”

March 1st, 2008
This weeks comic isn’t that good. No, really, it’s not. I had my spring break last week and figured I could pump at least one comic out. Didn’t finish this until yesterday when I realized I should finish it now or it won’t be finished at all. So… no reference for those cars as that would have taken time I once again don’t have. Oh well!

Updates will probably cease until the end of April. I’m passing through midterms right now, and I don’t think things will get very easy from now until then. I’ll totally accept guest comics if the size dimensions can be kept relatively similar to the SL strips (if not, I’m sure we can work around that). Thank you everyone for putting up with these long delays! I really do like doing this comic and I fully intend on pushing through and making it better as time goes on.

23 - “Free Time”

January 6th, 2008
Watching Battlestar Galactica right now, so my commentary shall be slim.  Short story:  I find this one hilarious.

22 - “Not the Same”

December 26th, 2007
A special Wednesday post as this comic wont really be relevant once Steve comes back from Colorado tomorrow.  However, there are two lies in this comic.  One, there isn’t any snow in Washington right now (at least not where it matters), and two, no snow, so no Steve Snowman.  But, you know, the sentiment is still there.

21 - “We’re Back”

December 24th, 2007
Wow, so that was a bit of a break. Jeez. Anyway, I know this isn’t so funny, but I needed something to kick start comics again, and this fit rather well. Could’ve fixed the slanted and squished text in the third panel, but I was too busy penciling TWO MORE COMICS so, ya know, it didn’t happen.

And there’ll be an extra comic uploaded on Wednesday for you all. :)

20 - “Of Games and Conventions”

August 28th, 2007
PAX was absolutely amazing. This was my second year going, and it was even more enjoyable than the first (which for me was just last year). However, a fault of my character kind of diminishes what could have been: I am a horrible coward when it comes to greeting people I don’t know, thus, I don’t do it very often. So, considering in all the opportunities I could have actually engaged others in conversation, well… it is regrettable. In other words, dammit, I wish I had actually asked a question or two in the PA panels. Not that I know what I would have asked, but at least the ACT of asking may have been accomplished.

On a side note, I decided to draw Gabe and Tycho as their comic selves versus their IRL selves, as the former is more known. And I like drawing characters that originated in a different style, in my own. Makes for interesting times.
